Who is Kristin Neperud Merz?

Well, I am the founder of Unscribbled, Inc. – a web and graphic design company that works directly with clients to develop their business by strategizing and meeting their promotional needs. Basically, I am a designer who happily uses problem solving skills almost all day – every day to help make my client’s dreams come true. Over the years I have developed a problem solving technique that has helped me to fulfill my client’s desires despite constant changes in the web & graphics world. I have seen the principles of problem solving work and apply to ALL areas of life, and I am hoping to pass them on to you here.

I currently live happily in Buellton, CA with my husband, Chris, and my dog, Boonabean. Boonabean is half American Bulldog/half Alapaha Bulldog. Chris is half… well, he is way too complex to be defined like that, but he is a cutie and I love him. 😉

Before moving to California, I lived in Chicago for about nine years, and in Wisconsin for about 24 years. I mention these places because I feel where you lived really does help to shape who you are and what you are all about. And, usually when I tell people I was raised in Wisconsin they say, “Oh yeah, I totally see that!” Then they claim to have heard my accent all along. I think my time in Chicago, and now California, has diminished it incredibly – UNLESS I am drinking or pissed off; then it’s, “Oh-a yah, I’ll take you o-at before you can say Uff da!”

When it comes right down to it, I am a happy person living with my desires fulfilled (or I’m actively working on fulfilling them, which makes me happy too). And I ask you, what could be better than that? I mean, seriously, how does life get better than this? I love it.

Thank you to anyone and everyone who has helped me to shape this wonderful life!

Why did I write the book, “Unscribbling”?
Because complainers were annoying me! I just wanted to shout at them and tell them to “stop bitching and do something about your problem already!” But that is generally frowned upon, so I decided to write a book instead, so they could figure out how to solve their problems and fulfill their desires (and stop complaining).

My design business is all about making my client’s dreams come true, or unscribbling their notes on napkins – now this book is all about making YOUR dreams come true. (And what could be more fun than helping make people’s dreams come true?!)

What I desire and intend from the “Unscribbling” book is that every reader will

  • Gain confidence, knowing that there is more than one solution to whatever situation you are wanting to solve or change.
  • Obtain peace of mind, knowing that there are ALWAYS solutions to your problems and ways to attain your true desires.
  • Know a step by step approach that you can use so you don’t have to rely on other people to solve your problems for you.
  • Go out into the world more confident and with a feeling of worthiness, knowing that you are deserving and capable of making your desires and dreams a reality.
  • Glean at least one good thought that contributes to your finding inner peace and happiness.

I am not a psychologist. Although this book will delve into some armchair psychology at times, please note that I am not a trained psychologist; I am a trained designer. I was going to be a psychologist at one point, but then I realized that I could not listen to people complain about their lives that much. It would drive me nuts! As a designer, I am solely focused on SOLUTIONS. I am a designer who uses problem solving skills almost all day – every day (with the best solutions sometimes coming when I sleep).  This is why I wrote a book about problem solving. 😉

Enjoy the fish!*

*Yes, you will have to read the book in order for that to make sense. Good teaser, huh? 😉
